After writing her debut album “The Next Big Invention” in her bedroom, Montreal-based Rachel Dara traveled across Canada to Cape Breton to have her live-style folk album produced by Grammy-winning record producer Mark Howard. The album features eight intensely warm and personal tracks, as she spins stories of love, abandonment, coming of age and bullying. Mark chose to work with such a young artist because of her insight into life itself which reminded him of another famed folk artist he worked with… “Her writing and style is far more mature than her age, she has a feel and sound like Joni Mitchell.” At 19, Rachel Dara already has performed at festivals across Quebec and the United States both solo and with her band. In 2023, Rachel Dara received ISSA’s “International Female Rising Star” award. She is set to release her next EP in 2026, which was entirely recorded, mixed, and mastered on 2-inch tape at Classic Avenue Studios in Mississauga, Ontario.
