Once Magnificent uncovers the remarkable stories of places, landmarks and institutions that aren't what they once were. From abandoned malls and forgotten cities to grand railway stations, airports, resorts, factories and ambitious developments around the world, we go beyond what these places look like today to discover what they were like at their height — and what changed. Through archival photographs, historical footage and cinematic storytelling, each documentary traces a story from its ambitious beginnings and glory days through the decisions, disasters and changing times that transformed it. Some were abandoned. Some disappeared. Some survived. And some found a way back. Because every remarkable place has a story about what it became — and what it was when it was magnificent. New documentaries exploring extraordinary places and the stories behind their rise, fall and transformation.
