A beekeeping resources site for those who want to increase honey yields, save money and reduce the need for regular brood inspections. The group has adapted a number of beekeeping methods for the UK climate. The two main areas of focus for the group are swarm control and treatment free beekeeping. Swarm control is implemeted in the UK using the methods developed by Walt Wright and published on Beesource. The benefits of this approach are: a significant increase in honey production, coupled with the benefit of minimal colony inspections other than to add space to store incoming nectar. Treatment free beekeeping has been employed by the group over the last 11 years removing the need to add chemicals to the colonies under their management. This has been through the promotion of colonies exhibiting hygenic behaviour and the use of a natural 4.9mm cell size, also known as small cell beekeeping.
