Catalano WWII Documentary✓ Add us as a preferred source on Google

We started this channel to document the making of our documentary but now the documentary is nearly complete! What a journey. The documentary tells the story of my grandmother (Liberata Catalano) and other remarkable people, especially women, in small villages throughout the Abruzzo region of Italy who risked their lives during World War II to hide, feed, and shelter Allied POWs from the Nazis. Their courage is an extraordinary and deeply human part of the war’s history, but it is a story that has not received the attention it deserves. We have gathered hours and hours of footage, interviews, and historical material, and we are working to preserve these accounts while the connection to this generation is still within reach. We are grateful for the support of our family, friends, and of course, Josh McLawhorn with Level Up Media in Tallahassee, FL.
