Hey nerds! I'm Abi James, a physicist finishing my PhD at the University of Oxford, and I spend way too much time thinking about science, science fiction and the wonderfully weird things people believe about the universe. Welcome to Pop Culture Science! This is my nerd space where I can't help but follow interesting ideas down scientific rabbit holes. From the physics behind my favourite sci-fi stories to extraordinary discoveries, confusing concepts and the claims that make the internet go wild. Through deep dives, discussions and conversations with scientists and creatives, I want to explore the stories behind what we actually know and what we're still figuring out. Expect curiosity, a healthy dose of scepticism, occasional tangents and probably more physics than I signed on for. I promise not to kill your dreams. Main videos are weekly with some additional shorts and topics scattered in when I feel like it. Stay nerdy!
