the spice was nice! 🌶️ 🥵 👏 🙇‍♀️ it all started very innocently with @F&Cauthor2026📚🚑✍️🎬 we were talking about the audiobook currently in progress. professional. respectable. 📚🎙️ then she started reading me pieces of the NEXT book she’s writing and, uh… can you tell exactly when the spice started? 👀🌶️ because apparently my face has absolutely no filter. who’s snagging book 2 when it’s available? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ bonus moment: me on the floor of my booth because i dropped something, hearing “hello?”

the sourdough is excellent. the lighting is moody. somebody at table 4 is arguing in a southern accent, there’s a deeply judgmental woman near the bar, and no one can confirm whether the noise coming from the kitchen is a demon or just another audition. oh yeah…and they’re actually all the owner. the menu changes constantly because apparently i keep inventing new specials. some guests come for the character voices. some stay for the bloopers. some accidentally witness me making a strange noise a

beep beep! i made the mistake of letting them out in the wild to drive me to work, and somewhere between leaving the driveway and the first red light, the situation already deteriorated. 🚗💀 there were accusations. unsolicited credentials. questionable driving decisions. at least one person has confused confidence with competence. i would like to formally resign from whatever this is. also WHO touched my radio. it’s country so..wild guess anyone? just another peaceful morning in the katyverse. 🎙️

one year ago, i took my first cartoon voiceover workshop because i needed something fun. i had no idea it was going to turn into something much bigger than making sounds into a mic. this year has been a lot of discovery. learning what my voice can do, sure, but also becoming a lot more aware of who i am when i stop trying to edit myself into something more normal, polished, or expected. i’ve learned that the things i might’ve once considered a little too weird, too much, too whatever… are often

which take is better? 🤔 i actually love this because it shows how you can take the same written character to different places vocally. with this one i was given an adjustment by the director after my first take: “go lower in pitch….more gruff.” challenge accepted. 🎙️ and it’s another reason i enjoy these cartoon workshops from @KeepDreamingCreative ✨ workshopping voices, trying new ideas, and then going back to watch/listen later is incredibly helpful. if i did another take it would have been
