“Find the texture” 🏂 The lesson here is that when you’re in steeper terrain, the smooth patches are likely more icy than patches with texture. So smooth on smooth can make for a bad time mmkay. That’s why you need to find the texture in the snow to help your edges engage and keep you from slipping out. Trust us it’s never fun to slip out on ice onto your bum or knees! This is an oldie but a goodie to keep resurfacing for those who have not seen it yet which is why we share it every so often.

Singing has always been where I go to escape, feel, express and just be with my feelings. Growing up there wasn’t a lot of communication about feelings in my household so music helped me through all of it. Singing transported me to a place where I felt powerful. These sports take a lot of slams, hits, get back ups and keep going’s. At the core they are about loving something so much that you are willing to fail over and over in order to stomp it. You show up for yourself, put in the work by yourself because you love it. Action sports is a solo game. You can’t rely on your teammate to help you out if you get burned. Most important setting on a camera! Little Cashy has said multiple times that she wants to be a professional photographer when she’s older. So I’m here to help her learn her way around a camera and fine tune her craft. One of the first lessons any new photographer should learn is depth of field. Adding depth can be the difference of a flat photo or one where the subject pops. Now each setting is great depending on what you’re photographing. My flabber is gasted! We were cooking breakfast this morning and I had just finished chopping up a yellow bell pepper. I was trying to clean up all the seeds that went everywhere and that’s when little Cashy came over to tell me she knew how to cut it without getting seeds all over the place. Speed and control challenge! We really got riding fast there around the minute ten mark once we got some steeper slope to work with. I really love the shots when I got up beside Cashy and you could see the chatter of her snowboard on the mountain and truly how fast we all were riding. This was a super fun challenge to test control at high speeds and everyone sent it! Now we need another challenge if anyone has any ideas. #wintersportstiktokcontest
