The poor 12-year-old boy Eoin Doyle who tragically died after the train crash in Ballyhaunis on Thursday was pictured recently with the Sam Maguire. Sam had come to his native Ballyhaunis where Mayo captain Jack Coyne is from. Eoin, who went to Cloonfad NS in West Roscommon,  loved sport and he loved following Mayo. Life can be so cruel. Rest in peace Eoin. Our deepest sympathies to the Doyle family.🙏

Fifteen years ago on this very day, August 27th 2011, the then President Mary McAleese made a special visit to Gorthaganny in North Roscommon to officially unveil a stunning life-size memorial statue of Roscommon football legend, Dermot Earley. The first anniversary of Dermot’s death took place earlier that year on June 24th. However, two late points from Mick Hickey, who had replaced the suspended Jimmy Ke

Fair play Rebecca! Great poem too! Fingers crossed! 🌹 #roseoftralee

Very sad to to hear the news about the untimely death of former Galway footballer Paul Clancy. Paul was a brother-in-law and Moycullen club mate of former Roscommon footballer, Don Connellan who passed away last August. Don was 51. Paul was 49. Both taken by illness. Truly awful for their families. Rip. 🙏 #Roscommon #Galway #GAA
