Flying to New York in February to launch French Blending with @L’Oréal Professionnel was what dreams are made of! I wasn’t expecting to learn so much about how the tastes are in the US and I loved how warmth and sheer cover is coveted.

Let’s break down these social stereotypes shall we and start viewing white hair as the queen energy that it is. Use the white pattern creatively and keep that hair cut modern for the best pairing with grey blending.

I love to use a cut throat razor to crave out the shapes in the fringe here but if you’re just starting to learn this, you can use safety razors which has a guide around the blade.

Third session in now, we needed to start isolating areas of white and dropping down and neutralising the bands of warmth, whilst giving a little coverage towards the root but without the harsh regrowth. For this I used @L’Oréal Professionnel DIACOLOR 6/6.1, blending in to 7&7.1 on the ends with some tip outs and highlights then toned with DIALIGHT 9.13 and a small drop of gold booster. She needed this as if I dropped ash on top, it would have looked silver and that wasn't what she wanted.

I'm a huge fan of blending greys with alkali colour if the client is wanting some coverage but sometimes they will move on and start to be happier with the coolness of their own grey - no Demi colour can match that! So this time, from a phrase coined by my MUA client, Janet, we did a tinted moisturiser coverage using @L’Oréal Professionnel Dialight 7.1/8.1 for neutralisation and gloss. I then coated her blondes with a 10.12 for added coolness and shine.
