Japanese capsule hotels are grading guests’ sleep quality. Sensors in the pod monitor your sleep patterns. You get a sleep report after checkout, showing any risk factors for sleep-related illnesses like sleep apnea. The results are also shared anonymously with medical and research institutions. This week five years ago: Moved halfway around the world during a global pandemic. Packed my life into two carry-on bags and two checked bags.
