A Salvadoran immigrant being held at Newark’s Delaney Hall federal detention center died over the weekend, according to Senator Andy Kim and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. They identified the man as 41-year-old Edwin Jovanny Lopez Cornejo. This is the second death at the detention center since it reopened last year to accommodate Trump’s immigration crackdown.
