Dive into the thrilling world of Metal Monster, an enthralling fantasy novel by Abraham Merritt. Follow Dr. Goodwin on his adventurous botanical expedition in the majestic Himalayas, where he encounters Dick Drake, the son of an old colleague. Together, they witness a mysterious aurora-like phenomenon that beckons them to investigate. Their journey leads them to old friends, Martin and Ruth Ventnor, brilliant scientists caught in a perilous clash reminiscent of Darius IIIs ancient battles against Alexander the Great. Just when hope seems lost, they are rescued by the enigmatic Norhala, a powerful woman who commands lightning and controls extraordinary metal animate beings—sentient geometric forms capable of devastating destruction. As they uncover the secrets of a hidden valley ruled by the formidable Metal Emperor and aided by the Keeper of the Cones, tensions rise. Ruth is drawn into Norhalas transformative influence, while Martin’s desperate actions put him in grave danger. With the threat of both the Metal Monster and ancient Persians closing in, it is up to Goodwin and Drake to devise a daring escape.
