Step into the world of Henrik Ibsens The Master Builder, a gripping tale first published in 1892. Follow architect Halvard Solness, a man who has clawed his way to the pinnacle of success despite enduring profound personal tragedies, including the loss of his two sons. His ascent is marked by ruthless competition and a troubling knack for imposing his will on those around him. His wife, Aline, grapples with mourning their lost dreams while struggling with Solnesss infatuation with younger women, particularly his bookkeeper, Kaia Fosli. As Solness dismisses the aspirations of fellow architects Knut Brovik and his son Ragnar, he finds an unexpected confidant in the family physician, Dr. Herdal. The arrival of Hilda Wangel, a woman from his past, ignites a new obsession that could ultimately lead to his downfall. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett)
