i've got the plotter simulator pre-processor just about done. to portray ink you have to handle overlapping lines; they must be darker at the crossings. you even have to handle lines that overlap themselves, which requires a whole other level of geometric trickery. here's what it looks like when it works.
the printer is producing some very nice output, also. i'm not pleased with the 32lb paper

i've got the plotter simulator pre-processor just about done. to portray ink you have to handle overlapping lines; they must be darker at the crossings. you even have to handle lines that overlap themselves, which requires a whole other … ★ 15 some sack of shit masquerading as a human got into my web host and did bad things. so the haloclock.ca website was down, including timezone/forecast lookup. everything's restored now. clocks shouldn't have been whining, though, becaus… ★ 3 new printer arrived and set up. bit underwhelming on regular paper as all inkjets are, but very acceptable on inkjet stock. now i need to find the right medium weight matte paper ★ 4 assuming the print quality is there, i may also do larger single plot "simulations" off the original SVG files at very reasonable prices. they'll look very much like plots but won't take me literal hours to produce, so the price can come … ★ 1 i ordered a new printer as the old one wasn't fixable. the zine idea is to make an 8, 12 or 16 page zine on letter/a4 folded in half, with one plotter reproduction (or simulation) per page at a size to fit in a 5x7" / 13x18cm mat openin… ★ 3 i don't have a colour printer to see what it looks like on paper, though.
