The #Arctic #seaice extent is still increasing for this winter season.
And with the forecast of temperatures being rather cold in regions of the ice edge, it will be interesting to see when we land on the annual maximum this year.
The #Antarctic monthly #seaice extent for February 2024 landed among the 3 lowest on record, behind 2023 and very close to 2017.

I think it is pretty safe to say that Antarctic sea ice has reached its annual minimum extent (on Febr 20th).
The 2024 minimum is the 3rd-4th lowest annual minimum on record, behind 2023🥇 and 2022🥈, and very close to 2017🥉.
