We were recently given a pair of really neat solar lights. They came with spikes you could fit on them to stick in the ground, but what's the fun in that. Decided they would look great on the gate posts into the garden. Love being able to whip up a drawing in CAD and quickly (well perhaps not quickly on my older unit) print off custom mounts in PETG. #cad, #3dprint

Not exactly the textbook way to clean up the shaft to fit the new pump impeller for the hot tub, but sure worked great. N95 mask and a full face shield a necessity though. Took way longer to temp wire up the motor and clamp everything down than it did to actually do the grinding. Shaft had been overheated and hardened so nothing other than the grinder would touch it.

When your spouse asks you to cut some craft sticks in half for a project somehow it's just way more fun to tell your robot to cut them with it's laser! Also great that it doesn't care about grain, warping, etc. #cnc, #laser, #maker, #linuxcnc,

Well I've been accumulating this pile of stuff for months now, spreading out the cost. Guess I need to find the time now to turn it into a Voron 2.4. #3dprinting, #voron, #maker

Today I learned that if you drop a roll of aluminum tape on a slipped driveway, it will indeed unroll the remaining 20+ meters faster than you can react.
Feeling like a throwback to a high school science project. Redoing my 20 year old solar pool heater and the rubber is a bit harder than it used to be and does not want to go over the spigots on my newly manufactured headers. Got samples …
My home brew pool controller uses 4 DS18B20 temp probes. If one dies it unfortunately takes down the complete I2C buss. For troubleshooting I knocked up a probe tester with stuff hanging around. (ESP32 and display). Don't judge me by t…

Been using Linuxcnc for a number of years now and always found the HAL and custom panels a bit of dark wizardry. After crafting a second CNC I felt I had to finally go down the rabbit hole and learn about it. So far I have the custom panel…
Just finished printing off a bag full of various sized eyepiece and telescope caps for our club's telescope loan library. Used TPU and am very happy with the results. Did this because we could not find some of the sizes we needed to buy,…
Another big step. Got the controller for the CNC2 wired up on the bench and powered up - with no magic smoke! Even talks to LinuxCNC the way it's supposed to (via a MESA 7i76e mounted in the bottom). Everything fits in a repurposed comp…
Perfect first layer for a 20 hour carbon fibre PETG print. Just about the max size my bed will handle. A new Z carriage for my old CNC. Stole the spindle for my new one and retrofitting a router to the old one. (Bonus points if that mak…
Been 3d printing for a few years now and just trying some TPU. Already have a love/hate relationship with it. Love the results - when it works. Any little glitch, too tight on the initial layer, heat out a bit, feed too fast, xtruder fa…
