🔥 Top post With significant time and effort from one of our regular contributors (@pijyoi) we now have removed pyopengl as an optional dependency for PyQtGraph, and use exclusively the #OpenGL implementation within PySide6/PyQt5/PyQt6. No more optional dependency needed for the 3D features… ★ 5
For reasons, we’ve decided to bump up the minimum version of Qt6 to 6.8 (still supporting PyQt5 5.15). Does this adversely affect you? If so please reach out! ★ 1 Upcoming changes will involve removing PySide2 support (No plans to remove PyQt5 support for the time being). If you are seeing this, have some #OpenGL programming experience and would like to contribute to #PyQtGraph, please reach out! We have removed MetaArray from the library after a very long deprecation warning period, added BoxPlots, started adding much more detailed documentation for PlotDataItem and ImageItem (including discussions on performance considerations). … Three are changes in virtually every part of the library, but some of the biggest changes include an overhaul of our usage of OpenGL. The library has largely migrated to "modern" OpenGL. No longer is OpenGL usage (with 2D plots) hidden beh… PyQtGraph 0.14.0 has shipped! It consisted of almost 200 merged PRs, 21 of which were authored by first time contributors! The crafting of a changelog for a new release is in process... Looks like a fix has been made and will be in 6.9.2. In PySide6, 6.9.1 a breaking change was made which breaks pyqtgraph in a pretty awful way. A bug report has been submitted but if you use pyside6 and pyqtgraph please pin to 6.9.0 for the time being. Do you use pg.ConsoleWidget and have some preference for it over #IPython ‘s QtConsole? If so I’d like to hear from you. We’re considering deprecating ConsoleWidget and directing users to use the Jupyter/IPython QtConsole instead. ★ 1 @napari I recollect someone that was contributing to your library posted a series of tweets/toots, we don't remember, about debugging Qt related segfaults in your CI system, and posted their findings on various causes and suggested fixes. … ★ 2 Qt5 goes EOL at the end of May. I'm not sure when we will remove support, but it might not be long after. If this will impact you, please let us know along with if there was something we can do in the library to aid with the transition. ★ 1
