What is it about this situation that's causing people to say things like, "After the mid-terms, the Republicans will have to do some soul searching"? ★ 1 The Republican Party needs to be dismantled. It will simply keep pushing for fascism. It got really close and faced no real consequences. (Losing a mid-term doesn't count. Trump lost the election and the party let him run again.) ★ 1 But the idea that the US's two-party system will go back to normal is simply not reasonable. It's looking like there isn't a way for them to rig those elections in time to not get creamed. Every American who can vote MUST get out and see to it, of course. My point (I know this thread has rambled) is that if we want to fight against the "AI" industry--and we should!!--we have to move past the circular firing squad and get active. Praxis requires *action*, not just words. #AI #LLM @hankgreen just said that he uses #AI to make his videos, I *think* as a research tool, and he's so knowledgeable that IMO, it's fine. He can tell when an LLM gives him shit information. #AI #LLM If you want to oppose "AI" use then go to your school board meetings and speak out against it. Get active in your union (if you have one) to ensure workers decide what tools they use. Join anti-data-centre activist groups.
