In addition to this, computers, even Linux boxes, were not designed with gaming in mind. You can, of course, play games. You can upscale, apply xBRZ, and even per-pixel light…
Playing games of yore on an emulator is pretty much scentless. It's so different when you play those games in the machines they were designed for. You don't get the fancy extras, but it feels like "it's the way it was meant to be played".
My valuable advice goes places...
