🔥 Top post Just released a new crate called opslag. It's a no_std mDNS service discovery implementation in pure Rust. I'm hacking around with some embedded STM32 hardware and I couldn't find any suitable mDNS lib for such a use case. #rustlang #rust #mdns https://crates.io/crates/opslag ★ 7

Loved talking Glen about #webrtc and Sans IO in #rustlang – full on geek talk! https://podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/netstack-fm/id1833932472?l=en-GB In other formats here: https://netstack.fm/#episode-16 #rust #rustlang #sansio #rustlang … ★ 4 Just released ureq 3.x Ground up rewrite Post about it on reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/1iab9x8/release_of_ureq_300/ #rust #rustlang #ureq #http ★ 7 It’s especially bad with central libraries having what I would describe as frivolous MSRV policies bending the entire ecosystem to their world view. ★ 2 I know I’m in the minority thinking #rust library authors should treat MSRV very conservatively. Maybe even to the point where bumping MSRV is a semver major version. I will die on this hill. ★ 2 withoutboats not only puts words to, and points out exactly how I've been thinking wrong about async (Multi- vs Intra-task concurrency is exactly it), but also mentions two of my projects. I'm a bit starstruck. https://without.boats/blog/l… ★ 6

Ordering a circuit board from JLCPCB. I need to confirm the design proofs and they come as... rar?! I thought we stopped using rar around 2005. Why not go for something more exciting: cpio or lzh maybe? HOT TAKE: eval() is a more lenient variant of JSON.parse() ★ 1 str0m version 0.2.0 is out! It's a Sans-IO #WebRTC library written in #RustLang Find it here: https://crates.io/crates/str0m ✅ Bandwidth Estimation ✅ RTPa and low level API ✅ Performance improvements Come chat with us on Zulip: https://st… ★ 6

This warning falls short: warning: some crates are on edition 2021 which defaults to `resolver = "2"`, but virtual workspaces default to `resolver = "1"`… ★ 4 Sigh. Another #rustlang drama. The noise is quite one sided. I would love to read some post from dtolnay how he sees it. ★ 3 I think the stability guarantee of #rustlang is broken. Sure any newer compiler can compile older code, but the reverse is (of course) not true. And with the aggressive MSRV policies of central dependencies like the “time” crate, my build… ★ 4
