🔥 Top post Keenans' system, ARP 104 is a pair of intereacting galaxies connected by a filament of stars about 22,000 light years long. NGC5216 and 5218 are in Ursa Major and about 100 million light years away. They're both about mag 16.5 and so very much at the limits of my equipment. ★ 3
Supernova sn2026sqf in NGC3310 last night. Unfortunately, cloud rolled over that part of the sky so i wasn't able to get much data and had to give up on getting a spectrum but the supernova itself is obvious. I thought i had a pre-outburst… The Sun in white light, imaged with our Dwarf Mini. This is 200 frames shot in AE mode with the solar filter. AR14493 has elongated a little i think. Also visible, AR14492 top left and AR14489 bottom right, plus an unnamed spot on the left… The Leo Quartet aka the NGC3190 Group, consisting of NGC3189, NGC3187, NGC3193 and NGC3185 (the uppermost spiral). https://flic.kr/p/2s9XQ5p ★ 1 M105, NGC3384 and NGC3389 in Leo. M105, the brightest, is mag 9.3. NGC3389, the faintest is about mag 13. More info over on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/2sa3w95 ★ 1 M91, a magnitude-11 barred spiral in Coma Berenices. Technical details on Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/2s9WFqH ★ 1 A two-pane mosaic of the Moon around 21:30 on the 24th of April. The Lunar X is still faintly visible in this shot. Shot with the RC8 and H294c, stacked in Autostakkert 4 and composited in Microsoft ICE. ★ 2 ...And the last set of Dwarf mini data for now... some of these images were restacked in DSS or APP, just to see how it worked. ★ 3 I failed to post the previous bunch of Dwarf Mini images. This set was all taken in AZ mode so i have cropped rotation artefacts and tweaked in Pixinsight. Exposure times vary with target, the Rosette is the most impressive! ★ 3 More images taken with the Dwarf Mini. This set were taken in EQ mode and were 60s subs with the duo-band filter. Markarian's chain was 120m total exposure, M92 was 29m and the Jellyfish was 56m. ★ 3 NGC2146, the Dusty Hand, a peculiar barred spiral. More info on https://flic.kr/p/2rHxGV7 Another small planetary nebula, this time NGC7008 the Fetus. Details on https://flic.kr/p/2rHDwcd
