🔥 Top post I volunteered to marshal at my local #parkrun since I'm running a 10k event tomorrow. But I may have clapped for the participants too much. Pretty sure some of my fingers are now subluxing. They feel like a bag of dice instead if a functional structure. Damn you, hEDS! ★ 4
I don't know exactly why, but my arm is killing me today. So I set up Voice Access on my computer to reduce the amount of typing and mousing I do. So far, it is interesting but quite a pfaff. For example, I had to manually correct these se… So, my #GreatManchesterRun 10k is done and dusted. Finished in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 24 seconds which is not my slowest ever 10k. Now loafing on the sofa, watching the women's FA Cup final with a TENS machine on my arms. Because naturall… ★ 1 Getting ready for the #GreatManchesterRun today. I'm doing the 10k, so have time still before I need to head to the start. Decided to see if there is any coverage of the race. None on BBC (boo!), but there is a live stream of the finish l… I was wrong. Many songs felt familiar and some were deeply nostalgic. Night and Day was the other most nostalgic one, but I'm not done yet. Moving on now to In Our Heads (2012). Not sure if I know this album as a whole. The first few songs are certainly familiar but I only Don't Deny Your Heart has clear nostalgia for me. I'll carry on listening anyway. Already feeling it. Switched to music video mode for I Feel Better, which was apparently influenced by Susan Boyle, Les Miserables and Madonna's La Isla Bonita. What? Yes. Now, One Life Stand (2010). An album I definitely remember playing on repeat. This. This is gonna be epiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic! So, Made in The Dark is fine. There are a couple of great songs but I can't say this album ever made it into heavy rotational play for me. It doesn't feel familiar, doesn't feel like it has any power or nostalgia. It's fine. Now onto Made in The Dark (2008). The Wikipedia article has amusing rumours about a possible collaboration with Kylie Minogue. A different mood for this album, I think. Apparently not recorded in a bedroom so that is probably a factor. This is another album that I couldn't really tell you what my favourite track is. There are so many that speak to me. Maybe No Fit State? Or So Glad to See You. Maybe The Warning? I do like the threat that Hot Chip might break your legs or… Apparently, The Warning was better received than their first album and was described as mixing violence with soul and as sounding like early New Order. Well. I know I like it. One friend of mine really did not though and said it was "repe…
