A successful day making the AWX deployment run playbooks via SSM today. This neatly sidesteps the problem I had with no connectivity to some instances on private subnets which AWX couldn't connect to over SSH.
Bit boggled by the number of third party AMIs that don't bother installing / running the SSM agent.
It's an image specifically for AWS. Why would you NOT install and run the ssm-agent?
Found these chaps on a walk over the weekend. Rather pretty I thought. Apparently they're called harlequin cotton bugs.
