A Facebook selfie of the late, great #DarrenMarkland, ICU physician and cycling advocate, hauling the #canoe that we shared for one of his trips down our North Saskatchewan River. He is sorely missed.

I purchased this top sheet at Fabindia in Mumbai 16 years ago, and I've used it almost constantly since then. Recently, the edges started ripping away from the body, so it was time to refurbish the sheet. It to…

Gorgeous day to get out to the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, and to collect signatures for the #WaterNotCoal petition. People really come right over to sign once they realize what the petition is about.
It's been a fun couple of days, with a sew day yesterday, and then a Korean supper (Mandugook) with a friend. Last night was the final leadership forum for the National NDP party, and today was a voting party to bring out the actual vote. …

Completed the side seams for the denim blue tank top. 3 different bobbins were needed, and more will need to be readied for using a twin needle for the hem.

I probably started this shirt a couple of years ago, but set it aside when I realized I'd cut it crossgrain. Now that I've learned that this doesn't matter much with this fabric, I pulled it back out and have finished the…
It's a nice weekend so far, although I seem to have some sort of allergies or cold bothering me. I used the tortilla press, the atta flour and the recipe I had to make methi roti for supper. They don't look or feel the same as the ones tha…
